Softly, through the Pines

$4,700.00

48 x 60 in. Highly textured Oil painting on canvas. Ready to frame or hang as is: 1.5″ deep stretcher – painting continues around sides.

Inspiration for this painting came from a breathtaking photo of Yosemite* combined with misty pine forests I have seen in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It is highly textured with many foreground trees sculpted as well as painted. As with many of my larger works, it has far more depth and intricacies than can be seen well online. Viewing this painting in person would be a treat!

This painting is currently on display in my solo exhibition, “Dazzling Dakota,” at Center for Western Studies (CWS) at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.*  The show runs through April 25, 2025. It is available for purchase.  Please, contact CWS at (605) 274-4007 for inquiries. CWS is located at 2121 S Summit Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57197. They are open Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM or outside hours by appointment.

*Supplies for select paintings in this show were partially funded by a grant from the South Dakota Arts Council (SDAC). SDAC support is provided with funds from the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Tourism, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

*Reference photo credit to photographer, Craig Ford from New Zealand.
