This scene at the crest of a bluff west of Vermillion, SD absolutely captived me. The land on this bluff has been lovingly tended to restore it toward its original splendor by a man who has spent decades restoring native prairie on his land there. This is the splendid view that "Hilltop Cottonwood"* enjoys and I wanted to share it with you through oil on canvas! *See my painting entitled "Hilltop Cottonwood" for another view of this glorious bluff.
This happy Dakota wildflower painting SOLD at my booth at the Artist of the Plains Show!
The painting continues around the sides and is ready to hang.
Thank you to Jerry and Norma Wilson for sharing the history of and a day on your land to enjoy the fruit of your labor to bring back as much of the original glory that the land was designed to express. That day with you both and Jennifer Soule was a treasure to me.
