Stillness at Legion Lake
$6,500.00
Oil on Canvas. 48 x 72 in. Ready to frame or hang as is: 1.5″ deep stretcher – painting continues around the sides.
Inspiration for this painting came from a rare, densely foggy June evening in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The painting is of Legion Lake in Custer State Park. The dock is from my imagination, but that perfect little forest green boat – that’s inviting us all to com’on over, take a seat and push on out into the water – was really there! Fog is one of my favorite things to paint. It envelopes my soul in person, and it’s such a joy to attempt to convey that peace and calm through my paintings of fog. I felt I achieved it so well with this painting and I’m so thankful! It was a labor of love.
