Frosty Sorbet (PRINT)

The original is an Oil on Canvas. 36 x 48 in. Ready to frame or hang as is: 1.5" deep stretcher - painting continues around the sides.

This painting was inspired by a photographer who captured this fleeting moment of a sweetly pastel winter dawn as the fog cleared from over a tree-lined path and left behind a glittering wonderland. It was taken on a frosty morning near Brookings, South Dakota. She and I share the same love of these uniquely South Dakota winter scenes - the dark season's gift of heavenly hoarfrost.*

South Dakota poet, Jennifer Soule, was inspired by "Frosty Sorbet" to write this poem:

Frosty Sorbet

trees dusted with fog

stand tall and strong frozen

with fuzzy hoar frost

surprise of dazzled beauty…

Great Plains popsicles and snow cones
