Oil Painting on textured Antique South Dakota Cabinet Door. Overall Size: 17 x 39 in. Painting Size: 12 x 33 in.

Inspiration for this painting was taken from a photo of an expansive field near Sturgis, South Dakota.* I didn’t bother to count the hours it took to remove the many and stubborn layers of paint to reveal that wonderful, bare & dry old-growth pine on the edge of the antique cabinet door which I repurposed into this fabulous frame! I preserved the many layers of paint on the back -  which is so fun to show! I LOVE imagining the history of that door and remaking it into a treasure that highlights the grandeur of South Dakota.
